How the LG Revolution saved my sanity… and my job and possibly my relationship

I should set this scene properly.  I live in a house of nerd.  Me, always online, always reading the latest and greatest news, tweeting, updating Facebook or whatever.  I start reading at 6 AM and I probably end around midnight each night.  CTO, always online solving other people’s technology issues, using high bandwidth and is the only person who can make FIOS slow with his work.   In short, we are completely tied to the web for 18 hours a day and more often than not, we need web access via a computer.

So… what could go wrong in this picture.

We are moving. We are moving away from our fabulous FIOS and moving back to normal speed land.  (Sigh).  We are moving right now.  And guess what, our new Internet access does not begin until the middle of next week.

I seriously thought I was going to lose my mind when I heard this?  After all, my job actually depends on web access.  And don’t get me started with CTO.  The T stands for technology!  I didn’t know what we were going to do, other than me moving into my office and well, CTO moving into co-loft…

And then Verizon’s LG Revolution stepped in to save us.

When I agreed to try out and then write about the LG Revolution I didn’t even know I was moving.  I agreed before I knew there was to be no more FIOS in my future.  Before I knew that the Internet would not be up until a week after we moved.  Before I knew just how precarious my relationship with the CTO would be if you removed web access from our daily lives.

So how did the LG Revolution save us? Four beautiful words that I learned last night in my training session.  4G Mobile HotSpot.

Yes folks, my LG Revolution comes with a mobile hotspot that will power up to 8 laptops at one time.

And the 4G Mobile HotSpot was so easy to set up!  All I had to create a user name and a password and within minutes, every laptop in our house has wireless.   I can’t believe it.  Not only are we fully wired again, but we’re not limited to one computer AND we are on 4G.

Are there downsides?  A couple, maybe. The battery drains faster when you use the hot spot, but we just keep it plugged in.  I am also curious about is the amount of data consumed with this service since switching to Verizon would mean no unlimited data plan.

Am I going to switch to the LG Revolution? I am not sure, but I will say this phone has changed the way I view what I used to call a smartphone.  And the photo abilities are phenomenal.  Seriously people, if you haven’t gotten a new phone in the last year, you should go look and see what’s out there, including the LG Revolution.

This is a sponsored post.  While Verizon LG Revolution provided me the phone that inspired this post, everything in this is my opinion.  Thanks
